SNAPSHOT OF THE LAST 48 HOURS Most days aren’t as busy as the last couple, but we thought we’d give you a snapshot of what we’ve been up to. Tuesday, as reported here, detectives arrested Stephen Beal for selling oxycodone tablets from his apartment in South Norwood, and later executed a search warrant at the apartment. He is currently held on high bail. A short time later that day, patrol officers chased and captured David Malacaria, 24 years old, of 73 Main Street in Foxboro. Malacaria was wanted for beating and robbing a woman he knew a week earlier, and officers had been searching for him. He is being held on bail charged with unarmed robbery. Wednesday afternoon we got a call from a vigilant resident that two subjects were breaking into an apartment on Village Road West. Officer Milton Vega, Sgt. Doucette, detectives and patrol units and an anti-crime unit responded and within moments had two suspects under arrest, the resident for possession with Intent to distribute marijuana, and a 19-year old Boston man for home invasion while armed. Detectives executed a search warrant at the Village Road apartment later in the day and seized evidence of marijuana distribution. The case remains under investigation. Can anyone figure out what this was about? While some of our officers were at the home invasion, others responded to a call for a bicyclist struck by a car near Pleasant Street. As it turns out, the bicyclist was OK, which was good news. At about 3 AM Thursday, we responded to 990 Washington Street for a stabbing. Officers located a victim and were told that the assailant was being chased through the rear yards off Dean Street. A description was passed on to patrol officers who set up a perimeter. A Massachusetts State Police K-9 assisted with the capture of Robert J Alvarado, who was charged with the stabbing, and Adam Lopez, who was charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact. The victim and suspects were all known to each other and had been socializing prior to the incident. The injuries to the victim are not life threatening. During these 48 hours, the Norwood Police Department responded to 155 calls for service and booked 10 motor vehicle crashes. Otherwise, it’s been quiet
