SNEAK PEEK AT TOMORROWS WECK WILDLIFE WEDNESDAY SEGMENT! This American Toad was accidentally injured by a gardener digging in the soil to plant milkweed to attract Monarch butterflies in her yard. When she realized the toad was hurt, she rushed him over to the SPCA Wildlife Department. The toad had a fractured leg, and in another first, the SPCAs Dr. Karen Moran was able to pin the leg so it could heal. This is the first time surgery was performed on an amphibian in the SPCA Wildlife Department, an important accomplishment, not only for the well-being of the American Toad, but other amphibians that are species of special concern in Western New York!
