SNF Holding Company is now a VET2 corporate sponsor! SNF Holding Company is a large Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Riceboro, Georgia. SNF is the largest industrial employer in Liberty County and has grown significantly over the past few years, currently with over 1500 employees. They are interested in hiring veterans and or service members to fill the following positions through the VET2 program: • Production Shift Supervisor: The supervisor provides the leadership and management for a production plant. The supervisor has the overall primary responsibility for day to day operations including, but not limited to, raw material planning, raw material charging and polymerization operations, in-process quality adjustments, filtration and packaging of final product, and data analysis. • Laboratory Technician: Under general supervision performs Quality Control tests as required by sampling instructions to evaluate all finished products. Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation as necessary. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Free Leans Six Sigma Green Belt training a possibility for some VET2 students. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training teaches you how to lead smaller-scale projects focused on improving efficiency within an organization. The Georgia Tech LS-GB program is world renowned and used by several of the VET2 corporate partners. I am currently working with these corporate partners and the state workforce investment board to securing funding that would allow our VET2 students to receive this training for free IF being placed at a company that utilizes lean processes. This means that you would spend your first week of the course in the VET2 program, your second week in the LSGB class followed by two to three weeks placed with the corporate partner…all at no cost to you. If approved, we will use this model for service members selected by JCB and SNF Holding for the March 9, 2015 class. There may be some additional eligibility requirements due to our use of state workforce board funds. I will certainly keep you updated! The March 9, 2015 class looks to be our largest ever! I have updated all of the available positions with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., JCB and SNF Holding Company in Career Buzz. These positions are for the March 9, 2015 VET2 course at the Savannah campus. The Gulfstream positions are limited to active duty service members only. I certainly envision these positions opening up for recently separated service members in the near future. The JCB and SNF Holding Company positions are open to active duty and veterans who have already transitioned. The positions for the March 9, 2015 class are: • Sheet Metal Tech • Sheet Metal Tech Senior • CNC Tech • Tool Maker • Mechanical Tech • Instrumentation Tech • Installation Tech • Aircraft Planner I • Aircraft Technical Trainee • Line Service Mechanic I • Line Service Mechanic II • Avionics/Electrical Tech • Aviation Technician • Aircraft Technician II • Aircraft Technician Sr. • Avionics Installer • Aircraft Painter I • Avionics/Electrical Technician II • Assembly Team Member II – Repair (JCB Position) • Assembly Team Member II – 3CX (JCB Position) • Quality Engineer (JCB Position) • Production Shift Supervisor (SNF Holding Company) • Laboratory Technician (SNF Holding Company) The next class in Augusta is tentatively scheduled for April 16, 2015. Preliminary planning for a May, 2015 class in Atlanta is in the works!
