SNP comment on Labour lead Dumfries & Galloway Council budget proposal Leader of the SNP Group on Dumfries & Galloway Council Brian Collins today (Thursday) commented on the presentation of the Labour Administration’s budget proposal. Cllr Collins said: “They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and there is a good deal of this budget which is familiar to me and reflects SNP priorities. “That said, we do have concerns over a number of items including the cuts to ASL provision and the removal of additional funding from Dumfries & Galloway Citizen’s Advice for advice services. These are only two issues arising out of our initial examination of the Administration’s budget – there may well be more. “As the main opposition group on the Council we will be constructive – we will support the proposals we agree with and where we disagree we will scrutinise closely and bring forward our own alternatives. “We look forward to the wider public debate on these proposals and will use that to help inform our own budget.”
