SNP membership has increased by over 5,000 (I was speaking to someone earlier to get the updated figures) in the last day or so. Thats over a 20% increase. You can join at https://my.snp.org/join . The SNPs left-of-centre, social democratic programme wont be attractive to everyone of course but at least no-one can say they dont like Salmond any more. There are alternatives at the Greens (scottishgreens.org.uk/join-donate/), the SSP (scottishsocialistparty.org/join-us/), as well as Business for Scotland (businessforscotland.co.uk/join-us-now/), Labour for Independence (labourforindy/ordmembership) and others. Jack Straw wants to make it impossible for us ever to be independent by making referenda illegal. Ed Milliband wont agree to David Camerons further devolution promises. Cameron wont agree to Labours timetable. Were going to be royally screwed if we are not prepared to stand up for ourselves and the best way to do that effectively is to join together collectively. Doesnt need to cost much, or anything, in money or time. Its just the best way of keeping ourselves engaged and informed.
