SO CLOSE YET SO FAR! From the South Korean dog meat industry, to the land of the free! Meet our boy Phoenix (he who rises from the ashes) a Korean Jindo whos life was spared, unlike the hundreds of thousands who will not be. He is one of three Jindos brought to the U.S to safety. This boy was already neutered, so we believe he must have been someones pet. Family pets are stolen every day, slaughtered and eaten as a delicacy for ignorant beliefs we cannot fathom. Phoenix is with us at Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue on Long Island. He is heart worm positive, but he is being treated. All three Jindos we rescued have heart worm. Please consider adopting one of these magnificent dogs. Phoenix is gentle and loving and deserves to be a companion not someones dinner. It is surreal to me as I sit here typing on my keyboard with my own dogs at my side to imagine them in cramped cages in the heat, in the cold awaiting a fate of suffering and slaughter.
