If I understand the basics correctly, the individual elements are digitally extracted from a mono recording ; the individual elements are then re-mixed, to create a true separation of sound, unlike the dreadful electronically processed stereo effects, of the 60s, in which no separation of sound existed. In recent years, several examples of DES Stereo Oldies have been commercially released on various artist Oldies CDs, allowing listeners to hear first-time stereo presentations of these songs.
