SO THE VICTORIA SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS REALLY WANTS TO TRY TO CONVINCE PARENTS TO STOP THEIR KIDS FROM PARTICIPATING IN A WALKOUT TO SUPPORT TEACHERS.... .. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE NO DEMOCRACY IN THIS COUNTRY... CONTROL OF THE MASSES BY THE POLITICAL AND CORPORATE ELITES IS THE WAY YOU ARE ALL RULED June 3, 2014 Dear Parents: Re: Wednesday, June 4, 2014 - Student Walkout As you may have heard, a Provincial student walkout is being promoted through social media by students for tomorrow morning, Wednesday, June 4, 2014. At this time, I am not aware of specific details regarding planned walkouts at our schools. The proposed walkout raises a number of concerns, most importantly, student safety. While the Greater Victoria School District is responsible for the safety of students on school property, student safety cannot be guaranteed for students participating in walkout activities outside of school property, even if those activities take place during school hours. With this in mind, it is important that parents are informed that these activities will not be supervised by school or district staff. While I fully respect the voice of students and their legitimate right to share their concerns, it is our responsibility to ensure that parents and students are aware of the potential safety risks as it relates to this walkout. I would ask that you please have a conversation with your children regarding your expectations as it relates to tomorrow’s proposed walkout. Yours truly, Sherri Bell Superintendent of Schools
