SO, they say dont drink alone.... well... give me another option.. Once again, over a holiday, my daughter stranded with car trouble. Shes fortunate to find GOOD people. But as a parent, forensic and ER nurse, I know there can be MANY other type people out there. She has NO clue WHY I worry, Ive rescued all my kids 3 times in their lives... while they learn. . Daddy is ON the road tonight to get her. Im left wrangling the ranch. AWE... THE RANCH... IN the mean time back at the farm, Ive been struggling with 50 horses to keep watered as in sub zero temps that the waters, hoses, stand pipes freeze, Checking on a new baby calf, dumping frozen buckets of chicken water to get new, The tractor died, the hay trailer hitch busted, one female dog in heat and 2 intact males on property makes for MAJOR insanity and dog fights, ( none of this my choice), Takes multiple sets of clothes to suit up for AM and PM chores. plus caught a coyote running off with one of my ducks, So THANK GOD for my new employee Miranda and her husband Rob. Rob scared the coyote who dropped the duck, she is now is a rehab crate in house. Just when I thought I would have a simple quiet night, once daddy left to rescue Rachel again, I was left with the dark and all the issues listed above. Miranda and Rob jumped over here and helped me assure all the horses had water as we filled 14 five gallon buckets to pour into the water systems to thaw them loose. So here I set, alone, exhausted, praying Mark and Rachel get home safe tomorrow. AND tonight is my anniversary. I hope this weather stays off long enough for them to get home. Off to bed early tonight so I can fight through the crap tomorrow.
