SODELPA happy with response from Fijis voters Avinesh Gopal Tuesday, October 15, 2013 THE Social Democratic Liberal Party is very happy with the response it has received so far from people at the grassroots level. SODELPA general secretary Pio Tabaiwalu said the partys officials were moving around and visiting people in the country. We are covering areas rapidly. We have been to some villages in Naitasiri and Rewa and spoken to people there. We are moving around now, Mr Tabaiwalu said. The response from people in villages we visited in Naitasiri and Rewa was very good. In fact, the response is very, very encouraging. Mr Tabaiwalu said although there would be only one constituency in the 2014 election, the party was doing its work in four areas or constituencies. He said the party had divided the country into four constituencies to make things easier in as far as meetings and getting in touch with voters were concerned. We have got the central, eastern, western and northern constituencies and we are still working in this way to make things easier. The central constituency will meet on Thursday to nominate people for the new party leaders post. Mr Tabaiwalu said the western and eastern constituencies had finished their meetings and nominated people for the leaders post. But, he said the names of those nominated for the party leaders post were confidential at this stage. The northern constituency meeting will be held next week to nominate people they think should be the new party leader. We have to present all the nominations at the partys board meeting on October 31 and the board will then give the nominations to the selection committee. fijitimes/story.aspx?id=248274
