SOKOTO STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE 'BERLIN WALLS! Reports reaching this forum say the Sokoto State Executive Council has unanimously approved N772 million for the construction of a precast concrete fence. Reasons cited for this borders on SECURITY. This is another extravagant spending at play. The Budenstag , White House , Downing Street in Berlin, Washington and London respectively , I am sure , are not secured by pre-cast concrete fences. Fence alone can not deter invading forces if the Government House is for any reason to be attacked. N722 million, doubtless is a lot of money which would have been better spent on equipping the police and other security outfits in the state. Does this not amount to another reckless spending of public fund in a desert state that is totally bereft of infrastructures?
