SOLDIERS FAITH Our Chaplain shared this earlier today during our Sunday service and Im sharing it now to all: There was a young Christian Soldier who was deployed in Tipo-Tipo Basilan for his first combat assignment. Upon arriving in the said critical location he noticed that almost all his comrades including his Platoon Leader has lost its faith to God due to their situation and the events theyve seen and encountered in that considerable as a HELL area. The young soldier kept his faith and cling to his devotion to God as time goes on in his deployment there. He never failed to read and do his daily meditations in his free time while his whole troop was busy gambling and drinking inside their Camp. Not so long later on the young soldier became the center of bullying by his comrades for his faith. One day while on the formation the Platoon Leader called out the young soldier and ordered him to pray and drive the long damaged rusty Army Truck that is impossible to be repaired. For him to prove that their is really God. The young soldier has no choice but to follow the said order of the officer. After praying he tried to start up and drive the Truck still closing his eyes because he dont even knew how to drivea vehicle while hearing the barrage of laughing by his comrades. Suddenly all the noise were gone and all he hears was the voice of his Platoon Leader in tears while watching the damage old Truck running inches by inches in front of them. Telling him that: ALAM MO SINADYA NAMING TANGGALAN NG MAKINA YAN BAGO KITA PINATAWAG PARA MAPAHIYA KA AT ANG DIYOS! PERO TOTOONG MAY DIYOS AT PATAWARIN NYA SANA KAMI SA NAGAWA NAMIN SAYO. From that time on the whole Detachment was converted back to Christianity and the Platoon Leader became the instrument of faith to all other Officers in Basilan.
