SOLEMN HOUR Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah. (Isaiah 1:10) God is talking to us here. Is as sad as that, that due to our SIN, God have to compare us with Sodom and Gomorrah. It is a pity. Listen to what God said: To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. ( (Isaiah 1:11-14). May God have mercy on us. God love us but hate the sin in us. He said, He would not be happy with the worship of Assembly wherever Sin is found. That is, wherever Sin is ruling God is not there. Truely, our body is the temple of God, but if God find just one sin in us. We are disqualify. When we call on Him at that condition, He will not hear us. Our praise and worship will not be accepted before Him. For He said: And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:15-17). In a church, assembly or meeting where we refuse to obey His will God may not be there with us. No wonder, churches are dry today of true divine word of God. In verse 18 of this same chapter God is now calling us to return unto Him, turn back from our sin and repent of them. He is willing to save us. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18). God is now calling us as an individual, as congregation, assembly and as a church that we need to come back, retrace our steps, repent from all our sin. Cry unto Him. And He will surely receive us back unto Himself. So whosoever will may come. Now is the time, tomorrow may be too late.
