SOLVING THE PROBLEM OF INHUMAN AND SHAMEFUL TREATMENT OF UNWANTED BARREN COWS AND UNWANTED MALE CALVES IN INDIA Chanakya clearly states that cows that are barren (beyond their productive lifecycle) are allowed to be sold for meat. Cow meat was DEFINITELY part of Indian cuisine in his times. It is better to humanely kill older cows and bulls (including male calves) that are not needed by farmers than to force farmers (who cant afford this) to put these out in the streets of towns where they eat garbage and their bodies become full of polythene bags, toxins and nails. They are forced (IN THE NAME OF RELIGION!!!) to live a life of pain and misery that is far worse than being put to death humanely. The cow slaughter prohibition is a later myth created by Jains. Even today, many Hindu temples slaughter buffaloes ceremoniously. Many Brahmins eat buffalo meat as sacred meat. In the past cow meat - so sacrificed - was considered humane and healthy, even medicinal (as is clarified by Susruta). Please share this, and ask those who worship cows to (a) prove that Hindus did not eat cows in the past, and (b) offer any economically viable solution that will allow farmers to maintain cows AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. I am not questioning the right of people to worship the cow, but to force such SHAMEFUL ill-treatment in the name of go-mata??! WHY THIS INHUMANITY IN THE NAME OF RELIGION?
