SOME BIBLE VERSES QUOTED OUT OF CONTEXT BY PASTORS AND SOME FANATICS. ( pt 1 ) We have to the end of the world where everyone pick a verse from the bible and just use it the way to suit what they are talking about but let me give u what I did when I was a member of a church. It may be difficult to understand what the Bible is saying by just picking out a verse but to truly understand it u must read the whole chapter. Here are some of d verse quoted out of context; 1. Matt. 10:8 says ” heal d sick, cleanse d lepers, raise d dead, cast out demons. Freely u have received, freely give. Many have taken this verse to mean u dont have to give anything to God for your prayers to be answered, but note when Jesus Christ was saying these He was among His disciples n he was only referring to when He has been crucified but what the verse is talking about is the power Jesus Christ gave to them not prayers. U cant collect money to give d Holy Spirit n d power of God in the gift of Holy Spirit to someone because it is supernatural. An evidence to this is when simon saw that through laying on of hands people are receiving Holy Spirit n d gift of the Spirit, he offered the apostles money but Peter said thy money perish with u bcos u thought d gift of God can be purchased. Act. 8:17-22. And dont forget, people sowed in d ministry of d apostles by selling their own properties n given d money to the apostles. Every minister of God needs money for d purpose of fulfilling their calling n to take care of their responsibilities as people of God not Angel ( Spirit being ). 2. 1 Corinthians 9:18 ASV says ” What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel. To the contrary, many thought Paul did not collect money for ministration but that is not true, in d 2nd letter of Paul to d Corinthians he wrote in chapter 11: 8 ” I robbed other churches, taking wages from them to minister to you . this verse shows that Paul was collecting money for ministration in other churches to be able to sponsor himself n d churches at Corinth. Paul also stated that it is d right of a minister to earned money for his ministration but he may decide not to collect at will by this verse 1 Corinth.9:11”If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? Of course d answer is it is not too much but d church at Corinth are not good givers n dont want to contribute 2 d work of God which y Paul wrote them in 2 Corinth. 9:1-10 . when d brethren from Macedonia visited them that they should prepare gift 4 them. Verse 6 says sow (into d gift) sparing n reap (reward) sparingly but sow bountifully n reap bountifully. 3. Malachi 3:10 says ” Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. This verse has been quoted out of context. Tithe is for d people of Israel who moved to d promised land. Tithe is according to d according 2 d 10 commandment given to Moses (tenth) so no where in d bible did anyone pay tithe with money cos it is meant for levite who work in d vineyard of God who should have enough food to eat because they didnt have any possession n inheritance in Israel so people bring them food, meat etc to feed on. In new testament Jesus n his disciples never talked about tithe which makes it irrelevance to success. If any Pastor told u that tithe makes your work to prosper then ask him that why are many not prospering despite paying tithe? God is not a liar, he cant say He will prosper u when u pay tithe but after paying u didnt prosper. What prosper people according Jesus is giving, both generous giving n sacrificial given makes a person to prosper. The Apostles talked about seed sowing which is practised by people of God in Act by selling their properties n giving d money to work of God. Paul says ” sow bountifully n reap bountifully that is what brings prosperity n success. Many Pastors makes fast money with tithe n that is why it cant be abolished.
