SOME DISAPPOINTMENTS ARE BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE October 4th, 2013 QUOTE OF THE DAY: “IN EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT LIES SOMETHING TO THANK GOD FOR” Memory Verse: “When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well” Exodus 2:15. A couple – Professor Claude Jaffiol and his wife, Amina, narrowly missed their flight to France. On June 1st 2009, an Airbus 330 came down four hours out of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), somewhere in the vast area of the Atlantic Ocean with 216 passengers and 12 crew, all confirmed dead! The only good news that came out of that tragedy was the story of the miracle couple who missed the plane because of a late taxi! They tried all they could to get on the plane that would later disappear into the Atlantic Ocean. Despite their efforts to get in the earlier flight which was ill-fated, they were turned down because the flight was full. Professor Claude later said: ‘it is miraculous – we should have been on that plane’. My dear reader, what do you do when after all your prayers, fastings and attempts, your expectations do not come as desired? Bear this in mind today; sweet blessings are hidden in shells coated with the bitter pills of disappointments. Looking at the memory verse of today, Moses made all efforts to defend his fellow Hebrew; he went as far as committing murder. But he was misunderstood, and his intention was misinterpreted by his own people. What a disappointment! His quest for safety from Pharaoh led him into the wilderness for 40 years, where he met with God and ran into purpose. Disappointments and failures are God’s dark pencil with which He re-writes one’s bright- destined biography. It was later that this couple realized that their disappointment was actually a miracle. Having tried all you can and exhausted your efforts on a thing, and it does not work out the way you expected, relax, and just thank God. Wipe your tears and look up! Always believe that all things will work out for your good at last. Remember, there is rainbow across the dark clouds. God’s peace shall be your experience today and forever in Jesus name. PROPHETIC PRAYERS I shall not mourn today in Jesus name. Everything will work out in my favour in Jesus name. My steps and thoughts shall be influenced by the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.
