SOME FREE ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AGED 7+ IN THE PARK THIS SUMMER: Join the Zoo Education Officer this summer for a selection of family friendly events at Roundhay Park. All events are suitable for children aged 7 years and older. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian. All of these events are FREE and have been kindly funded by your local councillors via the Inner East Area Committee. Places are limited so please book your place by contacting the Zoo Education Officer on 0113 336 7553 or email [email protected] Trees, leaves and all things green Tuesday 5th August 201 4 — I pm-3pm Discover British trees in Roundhay Park, Tropical plants from Tropical World and find out about the vital part they all play in supporting life on our planet. Life aquatic Tuesday 12th August 2014 — lpm-3pm Find out what lurks beneath the surface of the Upper Lake at Roundhay Park. Try your hand at pond dipping and get a closer look at the aquatic life with our underwater periscopes. Feathered friends Tuesday 19th August 2014 — lpm-3pm Join our Zoo Education Officer for an afternoon of bird watching in Roundhay Park. Learn all about our feathered friends in the park and get to meet some up close from our collection at Lotherton Bird Garden. Junior bushcraft Tuesday 26th August 2014 — lpm-3pm Join the Countryside Rangers on this family friendly event to learn all of the skills needed to survive in the wild, including shelter building, fire lighting and wild food foraging.
