SOME LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT “And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (Jn.3:19) We have all had the experience of coming into a room, opening the curtain or blind on a bright sunny day, and suddenly being able to see the smallest dust particle. What was previously unnoticeable is now glaringly evident. So it is with spiritual matters. As long as we remain in the darkness of our own flawed reasoning and/or the vain philosophies of men, we are self-satisfied and content. In the perspective of the larger picture, God’s Word tells us that, “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” (2Co.4:4) It is when we are faced with the truth and light of God’s Word that a crisis occurs. Will we believe and obey, or disbelieve and reject the light? Jesus in conversing with Pilate said, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” (Jn.18:37) The question I must ask of myself today and always is, ‘Am I willing to hear and obey the voice of the Lord?’ Speak my Lord, Speak, and I’ll be quick to answer Thee
