SOME THOUGHTS FOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER----We are about to turn our thoughts to the coming of Jesus to the earth. First of all we are thankful that He came….let’s give some thoughts to why He came. First---HE CAME TO CALM US DOWN….This means SOLUTIONS. We all face problems in life and often they get the best of us and we worry, fret, become anxious, get scared, panic, and loose perspective. But things are all different when we invite Christ into what we are feeling and facing. Our security and solutions are found in Him---therefore we can calm down. Second---HE CAME TO CALL US OUT….This means SALVATION. Through Him we are in the world but not of the world. Life is VERY different for a Christian than it is for a lost person. We, as Christians, do not love the world or the things of the world, because the love of the Father is not in them. We live on the earth but we are called out---to live for God and to seek His Kingdom first. Third---HE CAME TO CHANGE US AROUND….This means SANTIFICATION. God does not save us to leave us in our poor lost state of being. He is constantly at work in our lives to conform us to the image of Christ. He changes our character, our values, our priorities, our purpose, our ambitions, our plans---and ALL of that is for our good both now and for eternity….PRAISE GOD !!!! Forth---HE CAME TO CARRY US UP….this means SECURITY. If you are saved by Christ your going to heaven is a sure thing. Nothing in this world can keep you out of heaven!!! Jesus Himself is your eternal security. So let us think on these blessed thoughts as we think about what we are thankful for and as we begin to celebrate the Christmas season.
