SOME WON’T GET IT – Everybody doesn’t respond the same way to what we say. We have to watch how we present things to certain people. Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces – Matthew 7:6 Jesus was showing us that it would be dangerous to throw pearls to swine. They don’t care about pearls. It would probably tick them off and send them running after us for giving it to them. But if we throw them some corn, we’d probably be their best friend. In other words, we have to use discretion with people. Some folks will not only reject our words, but they will flip the script on turn us for saying it. The responses will be different depending on the hearer. Sometimes it is “All in the presentation”, but a lot of times it’s not. No matter what we say or how we say it, it will not be received based on where the person is in their life. Don’t take it personal! We’ve prayed in advance and we did what we were supposed to do; that is ALL we can do. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer” – Psalm 19:14
