SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN I really, really love Pop Tarts. I love cigars. I love writing… That’s all well and good, and that kind of love describes my favorite things... I love my God. I love my family. I love my country… These are definitely on the deeper end of the love spectrum. We feel love in different ways, and for different reasons. We feel love for different groups of people in our lives as well. They are all on a spectrum, and somewhere between Pop Tarts and God is a group of wonderful ladies who cared for me and my family during our darkest time, and even still. It is actually impossible for me to describe all of acts of kindness I have received—primarily because I was unconscious or in a brain fog and do not remember, but also because there were simply so many-- big and small--that in combination, they lifted us up and carried us through. There were extra moms for my kids, prayer warriors, interior decorators, counselors, gardeners, drivers, cooks, teachers, therapists, often serving in more than one capacity at a time, and always while caring for their own families as well. We all have more than one strong, caring, loving woman like this in our lives, so that victory is obvious. The bigger victory is when we can honor them by loving and caring for the next one who needs it.
