SONG OF THE WEEK: “Kept on Walkin’” (CVS Dub Mix 2013, from IF I COULD DRESS LIKE CLIVE OWEN—SONGS FROM FILMS NOT YET MADE): The smallest decision can change your life forever, whether in thought, deed, business, love, and matters of eternity…that is the message behind the lyrics largely written by Jennie Kelchner Kanski (with chords and melody set up by Steve Kanski). I tweaked the lyrics a bit and arranged it in a style that a critic in dailyvault correctly identified as “Roxy Music-ish hipster crooning,” though, to be more specific, I was aiming for a pensive mood similar to 80s-era Bryan Ferry when Dave Gilmour was his main guitarist. All the parts were played by me except drums, performed by Keith C. Kavanaugh (then on loan from Ron Fleeger & the Stranger). At least two singers have expressed an interest in covering this song, and it has been playlisted Lord Litter’s radio show in Berlin (Germany) and Scrub Radio in California. The original mix appeared in 2011 on my I LIKE THE STREET album, and it’s here now in a slight remix:
