SONY SRF-M37W WALKMAN REVIEW Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is the best travel companion I can think of. Once again, Sony has demonstrated its technical prowess, dominance and mastery of portable audio product category. Sony Walkman features excellent sensitivity and selectivity with respect to FM/AM/Weather Band reception. I feel lucky and fortunate to own it. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is small and lightweight radio that fits with ease in palm of your hand, on your belt with included clip or in your shirt pocket. It is just comforting to notice solid feel and sturdy build quality of resilient Sony SRF-M37W Walkman. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is go anywhere radio performing well under adverse conditions including very hot and humid summer day in Miami, on Verrazano-Narrows Bridge at start of New York City Marathon or minor rainy weather at college ballgame. When I am at beach, walking in local park or taking stroll on boardwalk, I pick up my local NOAA Weather Band Station with slight tap of direct WB Preset button. I get instant forecast the moment I see some clouds begin to populate beautiful clear blue sky. Instant Weather Band access enables me to plan immediate future of my outing accurately and swiftly with latest meteorological forecast. Open-air stereo headphones fit nicely on ears for fatigue-free listening. FM stereo reception of music stations sound marvelous with near concert audio reproduction. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman’s FM/AM/WB reception is free of distortion and station-drift. No need to worry about accidental station change or button press using Sony SRF-M37W Walkman with Hold feature enabled. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman’s Hold feature prevents accidental operation. Hold Switch is located on top panel and when user slides switch in direction of arrow symbol, “Hold Key” indicator appears in LCD. Hold function is cancelled by sliding Hold Switch in reverse direction of arrow symbol and “Hold Key” icon is removed from LCD. AM Band listening is a pleasure. I never get enough sports information. Whether its latest score, trade rumor, analysis of tonight’s game or general sports gossip, Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is always there to fulfill my sports talk radio interests. Talk radio programs and newscasts feature great voice clarity and depth. FM/AM programs are easy to locate with Walkman’s station preset feature. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman requires one AAA battery that is difficult to deplete. Time settings and FM/AM preset stations in memory are lost if AAA battery is removed from battery compartment for longer than 3 minutes. AM Band preset stations are erased from memory when AM Band channel step tuning is changed from 10 kHz to 9 kHz or 9 kHz to 10 kHz. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman does not feature weather alert override function, auto tuning storage system or auto station scan tuning option. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman does not offer TV Band audio. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman can’t run off AC power. Sony SRF-M37W Walkman does not demonstrate flaws in ergonomic design, broadcast reception or sound reproduction. You can’t do better than Sony Walkman for any occasion that requires portable audio. I am delighted to give Sony SRF-M37W Walkman 3-Band Portable Digital Radio my highest recommendation.
