THE ACA AND MEDICARE A local coalition that works with senior citizens will be hosting a workshop on the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) on TUESDAY, OCT. 15, at the Mayfield Twp.Hall, 900 N. Saginaw in Lapeer. It is aimed at those on Medicare or nearing Medicare age. The speaker is from a nonpartisan agency called Michigan Consumers for Health Care. Some of us heard this speaker at MARSP and he is excellent. The meeting is from 9:30-11:30 am. If you have questions about the meeting, call Barb at 810-667-3859. We are also looking into inviting him to speak to our MEA-Retired chapter as are the local Dems (and inviting the public as well, with the focus on all ages, not just seniors).
