SORRY ANOTHER LONG ONE! Dear woman who decided it would be a good idea to come and talk to me in the middle of my one year olds tantrum, While I greatly appreciate your concern. I dont think you realize the stress you caused by suggesting a book to control my strong willed child in the middle of a breakdown. There are so many things I wanted to say to you like we got home late last night, and by the way its an hour past her normal lunch time , on top of we have been shopping for the last hour and half. I know you meant well and thought saying God bless you at the end of your suggestion would help make me feel better but in reality you need to know you really only made it worse. I want you to know that I am a first time parent and I do not always know how to handle my child when she starts to tantrum. Yes, I get embarrassed when she flips out at a restaurant but no I do not need you to come over in the mist of it all and tell me you have helped a lot of people and to read a book. While on the outside I smiled and politely said thank you, on the inside I was shaking and questioning what everyone else around us was thinking. Do they want us to leave? Do they wish we wouldnt have come in? What you didnt see were the tears in my eyes as you walked away, or the sinking feeling in my stomach wondering if we should even stay, or the Saturday afternoon lunch with my family that you put a damper on. I want you to know that my daughter is one! One year olds cry. One year olds are learning that the world isnt fair and that sometimes we dont get our way. One year olds get tired,cranky, or I our case hungry(I guess you also didnt see her signing over and over eat and please while crying) Im sure you are truly a good person and if you want to help I need prayers! Pray for my daughter. Pray that she may learn all the lessons she needs to learn in life to become a well rounded productive member of society. Pray for her spirit that she may grow in the Lord and that He would lead her and give her a spirit of love and understanding for others. Pray for me and my husband, pray that we will seek the Lord in raising our daughter and that we can live a good example for her of what it means to be good parents and a Godly people! If you feel the need to come tell me something come and pray with me or tell me it will be ok. Tell me that Im doing ok there are just sometimes that we all need help. If you want to be Gods light to others be positive and help through example please dont shove more parenting books on my already overloaded life! Again, thank you for your concerns and I want you to know I prayed for you when our family held hands over our food and my one year old said amen and quietly started to eat! God Bless, Beth
