SOUL WINNING OR WITNESSING AIM: TO SHARE THE URGENCY OF WINNING SOULS FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD INTRO: One reason why God saved us is to serve Him. John 15:16 points to the fact that Christ has chosen us and ordained us to bear fruit. It is the plan of God, sharing his message of salvation. I. WHAT DOES EVANGELISM MEAN? A. Evangel means good news. B. Evangelism is sharing or proclaiming the good news of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. C. However, our purpose must not only sharing the Gospel to the unbelievers but to win them and become followers of Christ. II. BASIC REASONS WHY WE NEED TO WIN SOULS A. Command of Christ - Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15 B. Compassion for the lost - Matthew 9:36 C. Shortness of time - John 4:35 III. HINTS ON HOW TO WITNESS: A. Two things to remember 1. We are introducing Jesus to people. 2. Jesus is the naswer to everyones personal needs. B, Basic needs of every ondividual: 1. To be loved 2. To be served 3. To be successful 4. To be creative IV. CONCLUSION / APPLICATION A, Pray God will lead you to someone who is receptive to the Gospel. B. Before we evangelize we must have: 1. Genuine born again experience 2. Must know the basic idea of salvation 3. Must live a consistent Christian life.
