SOUTH AFRICA NATIONAL ELECTIONS MAY 7, 2014 As i observe the forth coming South African general elections, i note the following: A large number of people who hitherto support and vote for the ruling party, ANC may not vote for the party in the forth-coming elections. A sizable number of the people believe that the party has disconnected from the ideology they identify the party with, the party also display some likelihood of complacency; the partys attitude suggests that the people have no option than to vote for them (ANC). I see the ANC depreciating in value, this in my opinion will reflect in the over-all result of the election. The party may loose some parliamentary seats to opposition parties like DA and EFF. Media activities in relations to the elections falls short of my expectations; the campaign adverts are not as interesting and persuasive as i expect (coming from the Nigerian experience). I note the efforts of the opposition parties in highlighting the deficiency of the ruling party particularly in the area of corruption and service delivery. What i miss for now, is the fight back strategy of the ruling party. For me, the party has dropped its guard and the opposition is raining punches on it. How long the party can survive the onslaught, its a matter of time. MY PERSONAL OPINION
