SOUTHEAST ARKS COMMUNITY NEWS FOR MON, OCT 21, 2013 Options, a shelter for abused women, is having a fundraiser selling raffle tickets for a Browning X-Bolt 270 rifle and a Remington 870 12 gage pump shotgun. Tickets may be obtained at 110 North Main in Monticello or from a board or staff member of Options. Monticello Safe Prom is selling raffle tickets for a 2013 Polaris 400 Sportsmen 4-wheeler. Tickets are $100 each with only 200 being sold and the deadline for tickets is Nov 7th or until all are sold. Tickets can be purchased at Monticellos home football games or by calling 723-5931. The quarterly board meeting of the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library Board will be held today, Monday, October 21st at 10:30am in the Monticello Branch Library located at 107 E. Jackson in Monticello. The Monticello Intermediate School will have parent-teacher conferences today and tomorrow and tomorrow from 3:30 to 6:30pm. The Friends of the Library for the Monticello Branch Public Library will hold their annual meeting on the UAM campus in the Memorial Classroom Building Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available for the 2013 UAM Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, which will be held Thursday, October 24th at 6:30pm at the Gibson Center on the UAM Campus. The inductees this year are track and field All-Americans Milton Williams and Jeff Pope, a Gulf South Conference All-Decade softball player, Jodie Scott, football All-American, Roland Autrey, and an All-AIC football star from the 1950s dynasty, M.L. Mann. Rob Leonard, campus minister, for over 30 years and football team chaplain, will receive the annual UAM Spirit Award. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased through the UAM Department of Athletics by calling 460-1058. The Drew County Health Unit will have a mass flu shot clinic the the First Assembly of God Church on Hwy 425 North, Friday, Oct 25th from 7am to 6pm. Your insurance will be charged for the vaccine and if your insurance does not pay or you have no insurance the shot will be free. The southern gospel group, Kingsmen, from Ashville, NC will be in oncert Friday, October 25th at 7pm at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church located at the corner of Oakland and Winchester Road in Monticello with the Kinsmen singing at 6:45pm.
