SP employees show support ,confidence to VM Dadivas Citing his “16 long years of consistent and principled stand on various issues affecting public interest,” 27 regular employees of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Roxas on Tuesday have signed a “manifesto of support and confidence to Vice Mayor-Presiding Officer Ronnie Dadivas.” The SP employees “overwhelmingly express full trust and confidence to the leadership of VM Dadivas, Presiding Officcer, amidst controversial issues confronting the SP,” the manifesto reads. According to them, they can attest that as Presiding Officer, Dadivas “has served his colleagues and fellow employees with respect, commitment and utmost dignity.” The SP employees also believe with the “participative brand of leadership” of Dadivas and “ love for his work, passion and commitment to serve the people of Roxas City.” The manifesto also took notice of the mandate given to Dadivas by more than 52 thousand voters of Roxas City. Dino Beluo, the SP Secretary also signed the manifesto. The recent action of some SP Members is not reflective of the respect and dignity that should be shown in the august chamber, according to the signatories. Dadivas meanwhile is “grateful and happy” for the manifesto of support and confidence by the employees of the SP. Last week, nine members of the Roxas City Council signed a resolution “declaring loss of confidence” in Dadivas and will no longer attend sessions with him as there presiding officer. The resolution was signed by SP Members Julius Abela, Erwin Sicad, Trina Marie Ignacio, Cesar Yap, Matthew James Viterbo, Jennifer Anisco-Poliran, Erlyn Lim, Jose Agdalipe and Virgilio Santos,LIGA President . “VM Dadivas deliberately, intentionally and maliciously disregarding the rules of the Sangguniang Panlungsod(SP) by arrogating into himself dictatorial powers in deciding what action the SP should take,” the Councilors said.
