NZ COMIC CON! A city wide festival event, taking place in Wellington, New Zealand from July 17th to 19th 2015. NZ Comic Con will feature numerous events throughout Wellington City and make the Capital, Geek central for three incredible days and nights. The aim is to present an interactive experience in multiple areas, from Comics to Gaming to Animation to music and more! All this with the Wellington Armageddon Expo at its beating heart, hosting international comics, gaming, animation and high profile International and local media celebrities. Over the next year they will announce events and activities, with the initial events already live on the website ComicCon.co.nz including… Armageddon Expo Wellington – A three-day Pop Culture expo at the Westpac Stadium. This will be Armageddon Expos FIFTEENTH consecutive year in Wellington and will be held at the Westpac Arena. Pop Culture Gallery – A three-day gallery event featuring artwork from NZ comic creators and more Horror House – An R16 house of terror. Not for the faint hearted. The promise of leaving covered in blood hangs in the air… Opening and closing parties – NZ Comic Con will commence and end with a party bang! Pub Crawls – Two special pub-crawls, tasting the best in Craft beer while accompanied by celebrity guests Scavenger Hunt – A citywide search for hidden treasure and special trials. Quiz Night – A pop culture aficionados dream. Prizes and more! Cosplay photo shoots – With International cosplayers as well as local photographers and contestants, taking photos in locations across Wellington. Art contest – Open to all of NZ for art and judged by international artists Operation LAN – An epic gaming LAN held in the heart of Wellington city The ‘Beyond Belief’ Mindreading show - Imagine a highly interactive, genuinely amazing, flat out funny Comedy Mindreading Show that will blow your mind. The ‘Hypnomental’ Comedy Hypnosis show – See men give birth to space alien babies then rap in Japanese while the ladies drag race and pick up their dream dates for starters. The laughter Games – Just like the Hunger Games only totally different in every way. Featuring international and local comedians with a pop culture slant And that’s just to start! Many many more events and activities will be added to this incredible adventure over the next six months with music, theatre, Pop culture and celebrity events in the works. Negotiations are already underway for Hollywood talent to attend this incredible series of events and take part in numerous activities throughout Wellington. This festival will fill the city with Geekdom beyond anything Kiwis have ever seen, in the first of a planned Annual event in the nations Capital.
