SPECIAL APPEAL Pippa and Sky arrived with us from Ireland a week ago - two very sweet purebred black lab sisters who came into rescue due to a death in the family. We were told that Pippa had been operated at some point in the past to fix entropion (the turning of the eyelids, which causes eyelashes to rub the eye) but unfortunately a pretty bad job has been done of it and she needs another procedure to make her comfortable. This is going to cost us about £300 - a lot for us to find at the moment given the expense of Peles recent op. If anyone would like to donate a little towards the op, wed be super-grateful. There is a Donate Now tab on the page (and other ways to donate in the About section above). Other than this, these two five year old girls have been real stars. These two have known very little - they lived in a small house with elderly owners and nine other dogs; loved but we dont think they were ever walked and everything seems very new to them. They have had no training (they pull on the lead and dont have a clue about recall!) But they are very sweet, housetrained, brilliant in the house and great with the other dogs. They are also loving their walks in the fields - and have already lost half a kilo. (They need to lose quite a bit more still though!) Big thanks to foster mum Sarah for taking such great care of these two. We are still not sure whether it is going to be best to separate them or not. Our instinct at the moment is to keep them together, but we will try some short separations to see how they fare. This, combined with the need to get Pippas eyes right, means that it will be another couple of weeks before we formally ask for adoption interest - but if you would like to express prelim interest in the pair, please email [email protected] with Pippa and Sky in the subject line. Pippa and Sky are in foster nr Plymouth in Devon.
