Let me give you a brief story of Jahwi on how he joined Utakataka Express.Jahwi was the rythmist for Somandla Ndebele,when Dhewa listened to the rythm played by Jahwi on Rova mbira,it touched him.By that time Dhewa didnt know Jahwi,so he decided to visit Jahwi at his home in Chitungwiza. Dhewa arrived while Jahwi was away and he spoke to Jahwis wife.Tongai did not go back to Kwekwe that same day,he slept at hotel.The following day in the morning Dhewa went back to Jahwis place,as he knocked at the door a short guy opened the door wearing a boxer short only. Then Dhewa said can I see Jahwi pliz,the short man said its me.Murozvi Mukuru didnt believe that he was speaking to Jahwi at that time,he repeated again pliz call Jahwi for me,again Jahwi said its me.Dhewa said ok lets go to my car,in the car there was a guitar so He gave him that guitar and asked him to play the rythm for Rova mbira and Jahwi jst did that.Then Dhewa asked him to play any song by him,Jahwi played Zakeo then Mudzimu weshiri,misodzi yaDhewa yakabva yabuda and he said sorry for not beleiving that you are Jahwi as I was expecting to see a big man.Guess what! That same time Dhewa said Im going with you to KweKwe today,Jahwi tried to make stories but Muchina Muhombe did not take any.Dhewa gave Jahwi some money,it was good money at the time that you could not resist.Jahwi went back to his wife and told her the whole story and also showed her the money,the wife advised Him to go with Dhewa. On their way to Kwekwe he was told that the other rythmist they were not going to like him at all but dont worry Muridzi wenyaya ndini.For sure when he was introduced to the guys,Gift Sixpence and Ishmael were not happy,Jahwi was staying with Dhewa at his house,he spent about four months without playing his favourite guitar rythm for Utakataka Express because the guys didnt want to give him the chance.One night they went for a show at Gweru,when it was time to start Ishmael and Gift were nowhere to be found.Dhewa went on stage and called Jahwi,when Jahwi went on stage he was asket by Dhewa which songs can you play,the response from Jahwi surprised Dhewa.Jahwi said Im ready for anything,I came here to work,lets work.All the songs that were played on that night Jahwi was excellent zvekuti Dhewa vakabudisa misodzi futi,uye mari yakapihwa Jahwi by fans on that night evn iye Jahwi akashamisika.Timboisiira pano.
