SPECIAL NEEDS CASE - MISS PIXIE This is little Miss Pixie, one of the sweetest souls I have met in a loooong time. Pixie came to us as a stray, she was rescued trying to scavenge food from rubbish bins and clearly had been on the road since a while. We realised very quickly that Pixie is quite different from your average boisterous husky. Pixie is very petite and physical strength is definitely not her thing. She is uncoordinated, tends to trip when she runs, cant seem to gauge distances accurately and has very low muscle tone and even joints that click out and back into place - see video to get a better idea. Even her head is a strange shape & she is sporting a cute mohawk. We had Pixie completely checked over by a specialist as we initially suspected neurological issues, but the vet guesses that Pixie was born this way, maybe as a result of very bad breeding. She is just a little slow & definitely not the strongest, but she is not ill, her condition should not worsen in any way and her life quality is not negatively affected and she truly makes up for her lack of physical strength with a super personality. Pixie is a young, happy, fun, extremely sweet girl that is wonderful with all other dogs, people and we think possibly even cats, but because she is so weak, she cannot be homed with another big dog that wants to play with her as she would simply get bowled over and hurt. Pixie loves soft toys and tosses them in the air for hours. She also walks well on leash & enjoys cuddles and hanging out with children. She would do great as a companion to a smaller dog. She wont need long walks to be happy, but a loving caring family that accepts her the way she is and makes the best out of it by treating her as a normal dog and incorporating lots of mental stimulation into her daily routine.
