SPECIAL NOTICE FROM THE CITY OF HAINES CITY According to the daily weather updates we receive from William D. Abernathy, EOC Coordinator for Polk County Emergency Management, the storm is projected to produce at least 4-7 inches of heavy winds, rain, and possible tornado activity. In regards to the City Commission Meeting scheduled for June 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., we encourage anyone who does not have an Item on the Agenda, to remain at home or at a safe location. The Public Works Department is working to ensure that all the storm drains around the City are clear of debris and cleaned out, especially areas that are prone to flood. Sandbags will be provided at no cost to any resident in Polk County, and may be picked up at the Public Works Department, located at 300 N. 5th Street. For the blockage, or any storm drain issues, please call the Public Works Department. City Employees will be on call at that location, or by phone at (863) 421-3777. The Police Department may be reached at (863) 421-3636, for emergencies please call 911.
