SPECIAL REQUEST: Elvis is looking for a special home! 5 year old neutered male, he is also front paws declawed. Elvis needs to be the only pet, or with other pets that are slow moving. He might be best suited for a home without small children. He is available for the cost of a municipal license $15. Please message me if you are interested in meeting him. Here is the longer version.....You may recognize Elvis, as he first came to us in February of this year. He has had a hard time fitting in in his new homes... hes been adopted twice. I have personally brought Elvis home to try and figure out what type of home is best for this guy. Here is what I think, Elvis would be best suited to a home where he can be the only pet. He does eventually get used to other animals, but he takes lots of time to get used to them, and he is not approachable when other pets are around. He is a very sweet cat, on his own, or in the room with his pal Vivi (who barely moves). But once he is loose in our home with the two large dogs, and 8 other cats... he is overwhelmed and hisses and growls and carries on as if he is wild. The first time he escaped and I tried to catch him, it didnt look good. He tried to bite me, he hissed, he smacked me with his paws (he is declawed), I could see why he had been returned twice. It wasnt looking good for Elvis, we cant adopt out a cat this ferocious. But ones I got him back in his room ( I had to throw a towel over him and carry him back), within 10 minutes he had settled down and was his regular friendly self. On his own, totally fine. Out with other animals that invade his personal space... stay back. Elvis is also (surprisingly) good with our kids. He lets them pet him and snuggle him and he is wonderful. I have suggested he goes to a home without kids, simply because should another pet cross his path...hes a bit wild. And I small kids dont always take the warning signs of a hissing or growling cat to stay back. So I do think it is a lot to ask someone to take on, but I think in the right conditions he would be a wonderful pet. Even here, he is one of our friendliest cats. He runs to the door to meet me when I go into his room. He is nicely sharing the space with Vivi, who is of no threat to him. He gives kisses and makes a fool of himself often, as he is so desperate for love. But I would strongly recommend he be the only pet. Unless you also have a bump on a log cat hanging about ... actually Vivi is also available for adoption.
