SPECIAL REQUEST Last Saturday, September 21st, our community held several benefit walks, runs and rides for some very worthwhile causes and they held some very important meanings to most of us. ALSO, Saturday was the second annual, “Thank a Police Officer Day” around the country. Sometimes, events and days which we try to remember fall through the cracks or get swept aside in the rush of our everyday lives. We bring your attention back to early Saturday morning, the 21st, as most of us slept, dreaming of the great day we had ahead of us, when an Indianapolis Officer broke through a door and was killed while saving a stranger’s life. This officer did what he was trained to do, protect those in need. How many of us have been helped by one of our police officers at one time or another? Our officers would kick down a door, climb a wall and yes, even jump into the river to save us, never thinking of the danger, just the victim. Life is fragile and it can be taken from us in a moment, without warning. Please, let’s not let another officer die or another day go by without letting our/your officers know how much we appreciate them. Each day, if you see an officer, take a moment to thank him/her, shake their hand or wave to them as they drive by. Don’t regret not saying, “Thank You”. Tomorrow is not guaranteed
