SPEDWatchers: Membership in SPEDWatch is about taking action when the opportunity to educate the general public about what really goes on in our special education system presents itself. An opportunity to do just that is here now. Todays Boston Sunday Globe Opinion section includes a piece on the Lawrence Public Schools brazenly ignoring special education laws. I have snagged the first Comment spot. Now, I need all of you reading this to add a comment. The intent is to flood the Comments section with input from people (parents, teachers, clinicians, etc.) who say: This happened to my child. Your comment need not be lengthy. One sentence will do. What we need to do is generate large numbers of individuals posts. If you like, simply copy and paste this I agree with Ellen Chambers. I have personally experienced my school district violating my childs rights in [insert your town, if you can]. Of course, telling more of your story would be great, if you want to.
