SPEECH: BY THE NATIONAL YOUTH ORGANISER OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY(N.P.P)- Emmanuel Attefuah Danso. 1. Mr CHAIRMAN 2. HIS EXCELLENCY FORMER PRESIDENT JERRY JOHN RAWLINGS 3. HIS EXCELLENCY FORMER PRESIDENT JOHN AGYEKUM KUFOUR 4. HIS ROYAL MAJESTY OTUMFOU OSEI TUTU II 5. OUR ESTEEMED TRADITIONAL LEADERS 6. MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL PEACE COUNCIL 7.LEADERS OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES PRESENT 8. MY FELLOW YOUTH LEADERS 9. LADIES AN GENTLEMEN Mr. Chairman, On behalf of the entire members of The New Patriotic Party and especially the youth wing, I express my deepest appreciations to the organizers for this invitation. Let me begin this short speech by eulogizing the renowned philosopher of history in the person of Plato who said "He who commits injustice is ever made wretched than the one who suffers it." This quote, in my humble opinion, is extremely relevant at this crucial moment in our history as a country. It is my wish and the desire of every Ghanaian that this nation remains united and peaceful. In this sence therefore Mr. Chairman, I believe this quotation from Plato is to serve as a guide to all of us. It must be taken as an advice to those who commit injustices since they will not be spared in times suffering as a result of their actions and inactions. Mr Chairman, Ghana is a nation that believes in laws and that is why we have crafted for ourselves the 1992 constitution which is suppose to help us conduct ourselves as peace loving and law abiding citizens of our dear nation Ghana. It is in this respect that, the New Patriotic Party with its antecedence including that of the UP has always committed themselves to the rule of law, democratic governance and all the freedoms that has been espoused by the United Nations. Mr. Chairman, distinguished ladies and gentlemen our flag bearer Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and other leading members of our party have held this believe over a long period. In fact, it is this conviction that led to Nana Akufo Addo, Dr Bawumia our star witness and Jake Obetsebi Lamptey our national chairman to seek for a redress in court when they felt strongly that the 2012 general elections were fraught with many irreguilarities . Mr. Chairman, Nana Akufo Addo on many occasions and many plartforms has stated unequivocally and without reservations his commitment to accept whatever verdict the Supreme Court Justices will come out with. We the youth therefore assure all here gathered that we follow our leader and will abide by the decision of the Court. Mr Chairman, I made this pledge with the entire youth , women groups and the entire membership of the party from Paga to Accra and from Elubo to Aflao that, we will accept whatever verdict of the supreme court, so that Ghana can continue to enjoy the peace we so cherish. THANK YOU ALL.
