SPEECH thetamasha/speech You can rule the world if you are good at speaking. Stage is set and the audience too, all you need is to speak up. A competition where you need to impress the judges and audience by your speaking ability and speech. Topics will be declared 15 day before the day of event. You can check the topics on website, Facebook page or via coordinator. Each participant will get 5 minutes to deliver the speech and top 5 participants will be questioned by the judges in the next round. Based on your answers and speech, winner will be declared. Judging criteria has been provided below with their respective weightage. Please prepare accordingly. Rules and Regulations: Speech has to be presented in English/Hindi. Time Limit is 5 minutes for each participant. Exceeding the time limit will result in deduction of marks. Speeches must be original with the participant. Where research is used, sources should be identified. Judges may disqualify competitors for plagiarism. A copy of the speech in paper form should be submitted and mailed to the judge’s before the event. Gestures must be kept to a minimum. It is not necessary for the head and hands to remain completely motionless, but gestures must be natural and spontaneous, as opposed to dramatic. Examples of unacceptable gesturing; wild arm movements (flapping wings), pirouettes, kneeling, turning one’s back to the audience). Notes on cards not exceeding 3” x 5” in size are permitted for reference. The decision of the judge shall be final. Prizes: Prize of Rs.4000 in cash and kind along with Trophy and certificate to the winner. We will promote the winners on our social media platforms. Prize of Rs.2500 in cash and kind along with certificate to the runner-up. Prize of Rs.1500 in cash and kind along with certificate to the first runner-up. Prize in kind worth Rs. 1000 will be provided to the team coming Fourth. Prize in kind worth Rs. 500 will be provided to the team coming Fifth. Participation certificates for every team. JUDGING CRITERIA Greeting: 10 Points Opening: 10 Points Portraying of subject: 50 Points Depth: 50 Points Uniqueness and novelty: 50 Points Relevance in the current world: 30 Points Presentation: 20 Points Appearance/Posture: 10 Points Body Language: 10 Points Clarity and flow: 10 Points Eye contact: 10 Points Effective summarizing / punch: 30 Points Meeting the time limits: 10 Points Crossing time limits: -10 for every one minute.
