SPIRIT: SO SWEET, BUT SO NEGLECTED We can’t wait to show you an “after” photo of Spirit. She was in such a bad way and so appreciative of help when BAWA Director Janice Girardi rescued her from the roadside recently. She has such a lovely nature and will be a beautiful dog with treatment and loving care. Janice, who feeds dogs on that road every day, had never seen Spirit before. No one in the area knew her either. Probably she was tragically dumped, helpless and far from home, just for being sick. Janice fed her and I nursed her on my knee, double wrapped in towels to help her feel secure all the way to the office to wait for the BAWA ambulance to take her to Sunset Vet. She will need some time at the clinic to recover her health, but her spirit will help see her through. Watch this page to see the remarkable transformation of Spirit, who in a little while will need a very loving home to compensate for her terrible ordeal.
