SPIRITUAL MATHEMATICS OF ANOINTING IN MINISTRY SERIES PART 1! Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Pretoria, Sooth Africa. Elisha requested for a double portion! 2 Kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. He wanted the Lord to count the miracles and the works of his master and then double it! You must understand the implication of this mathematics. I was once in a meeting of church leaders and after the anointed sermon of the man of God who was the officiating preacher, I overhead one person saying “God give me the double portion of the man of God”. This is a good desire but sometimes people do not have the full understanding of the mathematics involved. THE SUM TOTAL OF ELIJAH’S MIRACLES WAS MADE UP OF: 1. His commitment to the undiluted truth 1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. He was a fearless prophet who stood for God and righteousness. The prophets of today have anointing that multiplies bread, restores marriages and multiplies money. People are flocking every part of the world to seek blessings from such prophets. If your anointing only adds blessings without subtracting them for the sake of righteousness, then you must ask yourself if you have the real anointing. You have no idea of the spiritual mathematics of God’s anointing 2. His obedience to the voice of God! 1 Kings 17:8-14 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. 11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. 12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. Here is Elijah the great prophet being instructed by God to go to a widow for sustenance. How can God send you to a widow instead of the rich for sustenance? That is the problem that many preachers have today. There understanding of spiritual mathematics is not complete. In their minds they believe that they can only have enough when exposed to those who have more than what they have. It does not work like that and this is why we do not have many men of God from God. Do you see what happened to Elijah here. Through his anointing, the little piece of bread led to the multiplication of food. Blessed are the men and women who understand the spiritual mathematics of true anointing for signs and wonders will follow their life and ministry TO BE CONTINUED!
