SPIRITUAL POWER THROUGH QUIETNESS IN A NOISY WORLD: Isaiah.30:15. For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel; in returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. There is great strength and power inquietness. Isaiah.32:17. And the work of righteousness shall be peace;and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. We lose a lot through being noisy and talkative. 1Thess.4:11-12. And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. There is all to gain when we are quiet in a noisy world. Isaiah.41:1. Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. Amos.5:13-15. Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time. Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. 2Thess.3:12-13. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. The need for quietness cannot be overemphasized in these days of noise everywhere. The world in which we live is a noisy world; there are lots of noises all around. To live a victorious life we must have and maintain a meek and quiet spirit. Isaiah.30:15. There is strength and power in quietness and there is weakness in noisiness. Pro.10:19. The bible says here that in the multitudes of words there is sin. We cannot also maintain our spiritual power if we are noisy. The strength of the Christian depends largely on maintaining a quiet and meek spirit. The talkative will not be able to keep their Christian life and marriage. Pro.13:3. The bible says he that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Quietness will make you retain your spiritual power and authority and also maintain peace in your family. This is the reason why the Lord told us to study to be quiet and to quietly do our business. Talkativeness makes a person to leak out the spiritual power and become empty. The grace of God and having a gracious life is enhanced through quietness. It is the quiet person that hears the still small voice of the Spirit of the Lord. 1Kings.19:11-13. If Elijah had been noisy he would not have been able to hear when the Lord spoke to him in a still small voice. Many Christian today do not hear God speak to them because they are too noisy.
