SPIRITUAL WEEK OF EMPHASIS (DAY TWO) MYSTERIES IN THE WORD (PART 1B) BY PASTOR PAUL THOMPSON INTRODUCTION There are mysteries, hidden mysteries and great mysteries embedded in Gods word. (Mk. 4:11, Eph. 3:5, 1Cor. 2:7,8; Col. 1:26, Eph. 5:32,1Tim. 3:16) WHAT IS A MYSTERY? 1 Corinthians 2:6-12 A mystery is a divine secret embedded in scriptures – Mk. 4:11, Rom. 11:33 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew:for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Within the stories of scriptures are hidden Kingdom secrets for our supernatural breakthroughs – Mal 3:10, Lev 27:30, Jn. 15:16, 1Cor 3:6-8 One of the mysteries in the Word of God is the Mystery of Divine Direction. THE MYSTERY OF DIVINE DIRECTION 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Isaiah 48:17-18 Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit,which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: Acts 2:27-28 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. BENEFITS OF BEING GUIDED BY GODS WORD 1. You enjoy the peace and quietness. Psalms 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 2. You enjoy safety and protection. Matthew 2:13-14 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word:for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. 3. You enjoy supernatural prosperity. Genesis 26:6,12 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar: Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold:and the Lord blessed him. 4. You enjoy supernatural triumph 1 Samuel 30:8 And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue:for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 1 Samuel 30:17-18 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day:and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away:and David rescued his two wives. 5. You enjoy fulfillment in life and ministry. As you submit yourself to divine direction, I see you becoming outstanding in Jesus name!!!
