SPIRITUALITY © David Bentata - Gibraltar – 10 July 2014 The Wise One arrived in solemn silence His talk would be on “Self Spirituality” A popular one these days When all quote that melodic phrase Yet none understood it in reality It was packed, standing room only So the Wise One asked for chairs That were stacked outside Off they went to provide A seat for each one from downstairs And when all were seated he began “We are made up of two parts Conflicting, competing till death An internal battle till our last breath Spirit and Animal with but one heart.” “Tonight I have seen you all very clearly! To find comfort was your sole intention So you each did animal work Each getting his own chair with a smirk Each an animal despite your pretension” “Now if you were truly as Spiritual as you claim, If you had let your spirit guide you, You would have still brought up a seat But given it to your friend as a treat and that would be a spiritual breakthrough” “Though the action remains the same One is done by you for the animal part To please your self was the intention, Instead the spirit requires abstention Till you share with your fellow man …… ………………………………….your spiritual heart”
