SPLM-G7 REPRESENTS NOBODY Neither the SPLM-G7 represents my opinion, nor Riek-Nyandeng gun-totters, nor the sitting government. Should I also be included in the talk in Ethiopia? If not, then how inclusive will those talks be? The other eight (8) millions dissatisfied South Sudanese can say the same. If were talking of inclusive talks, then all South Sudanese must be involved, and these talks must be held in Juba, not Ethiopia or Kenya. And in those talks, all the village chiefs should represent their people since they are the ones who are less detached from the realities that their subjects are living in. They are the ones whose sons are being killed, whose wives are being abused, whose daughters are being defiled, and whose properties have been destroyed or looted. They are the ones who need peace talk, if peace is to mean anything. The SPLM-G7 is just like me and any other South Sudanese. If they are neither on the governments side, nor the rebels side, then that makes them ordinary South Sudanese like the ones in the villages. They must be here at home, not trying to represent people who didnt appoint them in foreign capitals. In the last elections, who among the SPLM-G7 was elected in his/her constituency to represent his/her people in Juba? John Luk contested in Lou Nuer, but was defeated, Pagan and Oyai were crushed by Lam Akol supporters in the Chollo Kingdom; nobody elected Deng Alor and Lol Gatkuoth, Gier Chuang was not elected in Pigi. Nyandeng was not the Twi East representative in Juba. That would be Deng Dau Malek. Lodo Gori was crushed by the sitting governor of Central Equatoria state. Majak Agot was elected by nobody. Only Riek and Taban Deng Gai could claim being their people’s representatives since they were elected to the national parliament and state governorship respectively. But Kiir appointed them to be ministers, and he fired them again, wantonly as he appointed them. Now, how are they anybodys representative when they were spat out during the last elections?
