May God bless my colleague and friend Deng Athuai Mawiir Rehan, the leader of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance, for his courage, wisdom and love for South Sudan. I congratulate you brother chairman for speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves. Every time, you have always enlivened our pride in voting you to the civil society headship. While I pray more for you after this speech, I call upon all honest South Sudanese officials in the government of Salva Kiir and in South Sudan to protect the life of the civil society leader Deng Athuai as he continues to say the unsaid, to challenge the unchallenged, to risk his own life for millions more of his fellow citizens currently at the altar of man-made risks. Deng my brother, you remain the only lonely light in the dark city.In solidarity though from afar, our hearts and prayers are with you.
