SPM says, "Your support is my gasoline, my strength. You pour out so much love. Whether you’re Mexican or Syrian, Caucasian or African American, Indian or Vietnamese. Every color, race and breed has good people. Stay away from looking at people’s shade of skin, and pay more attention to the shades of their personality. My brothers in Hillwood are all black. These are guys who have put their lives on the line for me, who love me and I love them. My bestfriend is a Navajo Indian. My other was Nicaraguan, dudes that I’ve spent my life with, that let me live with them like Moham, he’s Korean. We ate kim-chi and white rice all damn day. Like Michael Scott, he’s white. He taught me how to make an omelet. These guys have fought side by side with me, just cause I wanted to be a dum-ass and start trouble. Mark Flores, Marcos Rocha, Fat Ass Bert. (He hates when I call ‘em that.) Alright, Bert, I take it back. Let me just say Pleasantly Plump Bert. What I’m saying is if you judge people because of their color, you’re missing out on some of the greatest friends you’ll ever have. I admit that I spoke about this race subject, because one of our family members was calling white people “crackers.” But don’t let individuals cause you to say racial slurs. It’s like if I had a friend calling people spics, but then he said, “Not all Mexicans are spics, but some deserve that name.” I would still feel offended because all racial slurs are unacceptable all the time, every time. I understand that my loved one said what he said out of frustration. Out of pain. Still it’s wrong, hermano, and those feelings will end up hurting you more than anyone else. And I say that with all my love."
