SPOILER ALERT! Reports Of ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Post-Credit Sequences Emerge !! With ‘Thor: The Dark World’ set for wide release on November 8th, the movie is already being screened for critics and reports are already flying about its post-credits scenes, a tradition with these Marvel movies. If you don’t want to know what happens, then turn back now. Otherwise, if you do want to know what to expect, this is what has been reported. As with the US cut of ‘The Avengers’, there will be two extra scenes, one that occurs midway through the credits and one at the very end. This is the description of the first sequence: Scene 1 occurs about midway through the credits, and it helps set the stage for Guardians of the Galaxy. “After the Aether is back in the hands of the Asgardians , Sif and Volstagg bring the item to the intergalactic museum of none other than The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro . The reason for this is that the Tesseract is already on Asgard and they should have now two Infinity Stones in their possession. When he is alone with the Aether, The Collector utters the phrase, ‘One down, five to go.’” There had previously been no indication that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ would have any tie to the rest of the Marvel cinematic universe, but this indicates that ‘Thor’ will at least somewhat set the later movie up. This could also tie in to Thanos, who popped up in ‘The Avengers’ post-credit sequence, but who hasn’t been referenced since. However, it sounds as if ‘Thor’ director Alan Taylor wasn’t happy about this scene being spliced into his movie. In an interview with Bleeding Cool, the director had this to say: I am very happy to not take responsibility. Then when asked if ‘Guardians’ director James Gunn shot the scene, he remarked: I wouldn’t blame it on James Gunn... Er… I wouldn’t attribute it to James Gunn… it’s clearly his sets and his characters… I am very happy not to take responsibility for that… It’s a different tone. I would have shot it differently. But I think it’s cool that it reaches out and touches that other universe. That universe is coming. The Guardians universe is really cool and wacky… but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I’m happy to give the credit away… Yeah, way to try and turn it around. At any rate, presumably, he did helm the second post-credit sequence which focuses more on the main characters of the film. Scene 2 occurs at the end of the credits, and it is a comic relief scene that also seems to set up a third Thor movie. “Thor returns to Earth and into the arms of Jane Foster, and they share a passionate kiss. The God of Thunder clearly chooses to be with her. In last scene, a beast from Jotunheim pops up in London, having previously passed through an interdimensional passage during the Convergence during the final battle.” I’ll have to wait and see how I feel about ‘Thor: The Dark World’ before I determine whether or not I even want to see a third movie starring the Thunder God, but so far, the trailers look good, so I expect good things! What do you think? Are you excited about this movie? Source -Blastr
