SPOILERS: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. People blame Superman for the destruction of Metropolis. Lex Luthor has been using his media connections to paint Superman as a dangerous alien. LexCorp is also experimenting on meta-humans. Aquamans minor role is that hes captive in LexCorps secret research center. Wonder Woman comes from Paradise and is on a mission to recruit champions. Her activities are a secret. Batman is old, but not 50-year-old. Hes gloom and gritty because he lost Robin. Said Robin is never named, but its his only one. Thats why hes not happy about the notion of teamwork. Luthor frames Superman of causing another attack on Metropolis, and Batman goes after him. They find out theyve been duped and go after Luthor. The secondary villain is Metallo. Hes a prototype of a new government counter-measure against superpowered beings, the OMAC Project. Victor Stone is a minor character, and one of the few who believes in Superman. He gets injured in the end and is selected for experimentation with robotics by LexCorp. Diana only wears her suit in the end. Lois jokingly calls her Wonder Woman. Diana takes that literally and proudly identifies herself as Wonder Woman in a later scene.
