SPORTS UPDATE Monument Valley Mustangs boys and girls teams make it to Striking Basketball Tournament finals ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - On the final day of the Striking Basketball Invitational the Tohatchi Lady Cougars dropped a 54-52 decision to the Magdalena Lady Steers in the finals of the middle school division. The Cougars went on a 13-0 run the end of the third quarter to get back into the match. Tohatchi, however, were outscored 15-11, in the final stanza. In other tournament action the Monument Lady Mustangs will play the Grants Lady Pirates in the big school finals at 8 p.m. followed by the MV boys who will take on the Albuquerque East Mountain Timberwolves. Both games will be played at the WisePies Arena on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, N.M.
